US colleges offer safe spaces, self-care, ‘mindfulness’ activities for students too stressed about election | The Post Millennial

“Tea, Cocoa, and Self-Care” will take place from 10am to 11am and the “Legos Station” will be from 11am to 12pm.

College students at Georgetown and other universities will be offered Legos, coloring books, other infantile activities to calm their stress about the presidential election this week, or in the words of one administrator, have the students “take a much needed break.”

An email sent out to students at the Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy said that the university would offer a “self-care suite” on Wednesday, November 6. “In recognition of these stressful times,” director of student engagement Jaclyn Clevenger wrote, per the Free Press, “all McCourt community members are welcome to gather. . . in the 3rd floor Commons to take a much needed break, joining us for mindfulness activities and snacks throughout the day.”
