First Deputy Mayor of New York City Sheena Wright officially resigned Tuesday, becoming the latest high-profile resignation in New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ sweeping federal corruption case.

Wright is expected to be replaced by Maria Torres-Springer, the city’s deputy mayor for housing.
She joins a large list of recent resignations in the Adams (D-N.Y.) administration, including her new husband, outgoing Schools Chancellor David Banks, who is also expected to step down in a matter of weeks, and his brother and close Adams ally Phil Banks, who resigned as deputy mayor on Sunday.
