On Sunday, a man was shot and killed outside a Georgia State University dorm in downtown Atlanta.
According to the Atlanta Police Department, they responded to a call around 1:40 PM that a person had been shot at 120 Piedmont Avenue NE.
Police said that they believe the shooting happened at the RaceTrac gas station nearby. “Upon arrival, officers located a male who sustained several apparent gunshot wounds,” police said.
“The male was not alert, conscious, or breathing and was pronounced deceased on scene,” they added.
According to Atlanta News First, the gas station is connected to The Mix apartment complex, which they advertise as student housing, but non-students are allowed to live there. It is across the street from the University Commons dorm.
Police have not released a motive or any information on a suspect, nor have they released the identity of the victim.
