The Iowa State Marching Band, while on their way back from the Pop-Tarts Bowl game in Florida, was in a crash that injured about a dozen students.
At around 7 p.m. Monday, a Windstar Lines motorcoach that was carrying the band members was in a crash with a privately owned school bus near Chattanooga, Tennessee, KCRG reported Tuesday afternoon. The privately owned bus pulled out in front of the Windstar Lines bus and left the scene afterward.
The students on the bus were not seriously injured, but around a dozen were treated by medical responders for “bumps, bruises and cuts,” Iowa State University spokesperson Angie Hunt said in a news release.
The bus was one of eight buses transporting the band, and other buses had enough room for the students who were injured, KCRG reported.
Windstar Lines President Jeff Greteman told the Register the company is working with local authorities, and the driver of the bus was not charged. Windstar Lines…
