Gov. Janet Mills Issues Response To DOJ After They Slapped Lawsuit On Maine Over Males In Female Sports

Maine Gov. Janet Mills has issued a response to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) knocking her state with a lawsuit over them allowing transgender athletes to compete in female sports.

The statement from Mills, via her office, was released Wednesday, just hours following the announcement of the DOJ’s lawsuit from Attorney General Pam Bondi during a press conference that morning.

Mills’ response makes reference to a federal judge’s recent ruling that halted the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) from being allowed to freeze funding for Maine because of the battle over trans athletes in female sports and President Donald Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services and Department of Education launching investigations.
